The "short" version of the Trail du Saint-Jacques by UTMB is evolving. Starting once again from the commune of Solignac-sur-Loire, this year's Chibottes route will offer you a more technical and rewarding "spiritrail" quest. The first few uphill kilometers follow easy paths, ensuring a smooth start until you reach the commune of Cussac-sur-Loire. Then comes the new feature of this 2025 edition: an exclusive crossing of the Loire at the Planche de Mélussac, which leads directly into the first climb of the day—Serre de la Fare, offering stunning views of the Loire gorges. The trail then takes you to the first aid station located in the commune of Coubon, which joins the Saint-Jacques adventure this year. Next, you’ll ascend to the new greenway and pass through the Valhory tunnel, known for its challenging uphill gradient that leads to the second aid station at Riou. From there, you’ll face 10 energetic and hilly kilometers including Eycenac, the Chibottes, and the famous climb towards the Notre-Dame du Puy-en-Velay Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A final push through the ancient town will reveal its last treasures and guide you to the finish line.
