OFFICIAL HIGHLIGHTS #5 – PISSIS AND THE 7 TURNS…
📍 From KM 46 – Ultra du Saint-Jacques
Nestled in the wild valley of Monistrol-d’Allier and proudly overlooking the gorges, Pissis is a hamlet frozen in time. Here, silence reigns, broken only by the passing of trail runners in the fading night. Just five houses make up this preserved village, where one truly feels as though time has stood still.
After looping through the hamlet, the trail kicks up again with the famous "Seven Turns of Pissis." These will lead you toward the hamlet of Chazaloux at the end of a two-kilometer climb, along a path lined with pastures and sheep.
The elevation gain here is direct, punctuated by sharp, steep pitches—a reminder that the Allier river terrain is never easily tamed.
